Alice in Wonderland

Belvoir studio theatre was the venue for a brilliant week of performances by the talented cast of Youth Lyric’s production of Alice in Wonderland sponsored by Movie House cinemas.

Our former student and professional actor Lynn McElroy directed a first class production with received excellent reviews and more than one standing ovation! Our students really enjoyed working with Lynn and our audiences included The Lord Mayor of Belfast Cllr. Micky Murray, Liam Hannaway, Chair of the Arts Council In NI along with sponsors and Patrons. The music and costumes provided by BMC added greatly to the success of the Production.

A Night at the Theatre

The Drama theatre at Stranmillis University College was the venue for Youth Lyric’s recent two night showcase, A Night at the Theatre, Making a Scene.

Over 100 talented members of our senior classes and Youth group presented a range of scripted and devised drama extracts alongside a brilliant dance piece. The cast played to packed houses and enjoyed every minute of being onstage!

We are so grateful for the support received from the Arts Council of NI and Movie House Cinemas which helped make the showcase a reality. Students from a number of courses at Belfast Metropolitan College worked on the production and we are already planning our 2025 showcase!

Dance and Drama Showcase

Youth Lyric, in association with Belfast Metropolitan College held our 2022 Drama and Dance fundraising Showcase which deals with the themes of resilience and wellbeing at the Stranmillis College on Saturday 26th March 2022 entitled “Who I Am!” by kind permission of the Lord Mayor Cllr. Kate Nicholl.
