We were delighted to be able to present our “Who I Am” showcase to a full house on Saturday 26th March. Due to industrial action, we couldn’t perform in Belfast City Hall however we are most grateful to Professor Jonathan Heggarty MBE, Principal of Stranmillis University College and his colleagues for allowing us to use the theatre at Stranmillis.
Our cast of 70 talented dancers and actors received a richly deserved standing ovation! Special guests included the Lord Mayor of Belfast Cllr. Kate Nicholl, Louise Warde Hunter, Principal of Belfast Metropolitan College and former Lord Mayor of Belfast Dr. David K Alderdice OBE, who was the first Chair of the Youth Lyric board. The evening was hosted by broadcaster and lecturer Lynda Bryans, Chair of the Youth Lyric Board of trustees.
“Who I Am” was staged in partnership with Belfast Metropolitan College and talented music students provided pre show entertainment and recorded vocal and instrumental recordings which contributed greatly to the performance.
Front of house administration and the fundraising ballot was organised with great professionalism by Events Management students.
The poster design competition was won by Sean Tierney, a talented Graphic Design student while students on the Foundation Degree in Cyber Security and Networking Infrastructure designed a powerful mental health PowerPoint presentation which was the subject of much positive feedback.
